About

I’m a southern writer, heavily influenced by Faulkner, Eudora Welty, and Twain. The standard gen X story, I fell hard for Henry Miller and Hunter S. Thompson, Camus’s non-fiction, Sartre’s fiction, Dostoyevsky, Beckett–everything impossible to duplicate and far off anyone’s radar. Do we need another Kafka?

I didn’t make the transition to Fitzgerald and Hemingway. Too lean, modern. Doomed, I wrote unpublishable dreck that filled a dozen notebooks before I found William Gibson. Neuromancer convinced me that science fiction could be upmarket and successful.

Another End of the World is my struggle to merge these worlds.
